The majority of switch-mode power supply amplifiers with the output of the Infinite QX6 might only use a PSU up to 4KVa per pair of stereo channels, but Void’s testing showed serious limitations from employing an SMPS with little or no headroom. Therefore the QX6 makes use of a supply capable of delivering nearly double the rated output, ensuring that peaks and transients can be handled with ease.
To further enhance the flexibility of the QX series of amplifiers every channel also features a fully adjustable crossover filter. Each 24dB per octave Linkwitz-Riley crossover can be configured as either high pass or low pass filter, at any frequency between 70Hz to 5kHz using a simple dial on the rear of the amplifier casing. This negates the need for external processing on simpler systems and makes the amp ideal for gigs where rack space is a concern. The Infinite QX series also uses a class AB mosfet output stage, which offers the highest fidelity sound reproduction along with a tried and tested reliability.
